Long after the leaves drop, the bright red fruits of this common understory tree persist. The fruits are eventually eaten by a variety of birds and wildlife. Flowering dogwood can be grown in USDA hardiness zones 5 through 9. You can find flowering dogwoods in the Dogwood Collection, the Fern Valley Native Plant Collection, the Azalea Collection, and near the Administration Building. |
