Picture of 'Aphrodite' rose-of-Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus 'Aphrodite'.

This is 'Aphrodite' rose-of-Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus 'Aphrodite'.
It is an Arboretum introduction that was developed for a long season of bloom with little seed production.
(Check out the Fact Sheet here). Rose-of-Sharon is drought and heat tolerant and blooms sporadically
from June through September. You can see this shrub near the Administration Building.
